The Israeli military action in Samaria and Judea, the West Bank of the Jordan River, has been a military success. Suspected terrorists have been rounded up, and weapons have been taken. Troops surround the Palestinian leadership. But it is not Palestinia that is capta; it is Judea Capta once again.
This military operation is in predictable response to the bombings. The suicide bombing and the shooting at civilians have caused Israel to occupy the West Bank and take this action. It is really the Palestinians who have the upper hand, because they can direct military responses and the whole policy of the Israeli government. They can create a response whenever want by striking at the heart of Judea, murdering Jews during Passover, at their temples, at their religious schools, as well as at their everyday life.
This military response, however successful in removing some terrorists and their weapons, has not and cannot eliminate the infrastructure of terror, because much of that infrastructure is external to Palestine. The operatives of terror are also in Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, and other countries. They can attack at will, and more massively than before. The worst terror lies ahead.
According DEBKA-Net-Weekly’s, as reported by WorldNetDaily Israeli intelligence sources are said to have discovered that terrorist teams have landed on the Israeli coast during nighttime. A fresh wave of terror may now be only days away. These sources also believe that more al-Qaida cells are entering the United States, Europe, and Middle Eastern countries, particularly Egypt and Jordan. The entire world is now captured by the threat of terrorist attack, including governments in the Muslim world, vulnerable to the fury of those angry at their policies. Terror has captured peace; it is pax capta.
According to this source, “This coming wave of terror, if not prevented, has a damage potential in casualties and inroads to Israel’s strategic resources and economy on a scale well beyond the aftermath of the Sept. 11 hijack-suicides at the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Washington.” Intelligence officials reportedly do not know what kinds of weapons have been brought in, and whether they are weapons of mass destruction. The signal to attack in Israel could also trigger simultaneous attacks in the USA, Europe, and the Middle East.
As worldnetdaily reports, “neither the U.S. nor Israeli intelligence appears to have received advance warning of a large-scale al-Qaeda-Hezbollah seaborne incursion.” The billions of dollars spent for defense has not prevented invasions of mass murderers.
The chiefs of government are not coming to grips with this peril. The focus is on military measures, and these have to be done, but these attacks and threats are symptoms and effects of political problems. Government officials cry for cease fires, but nothing will cease so long as the underlying political problem is unresolved.
The world has been captured by the extremists of both sides. Extremist Arabs and Muslims want to expel Jews from Israel, and extremist Jews want to expel the Arabs from Israel. Maybe one or the other side or both have history and religion on their side, and both can recite long tales of death and destruction by the other. But expulsions are simply counterproductive. Such views have led to the current threat of the destruction of Israel and the suffering of Palestinians.
Israel must immediately accept the Arab League’s offer of recognition in exchange for withdrawal from the post-1967 lands. They may historically and religiously belong to Israel, but the fact is that the price Israel pays for holding these land is the destruction of pre-1967 Israel. The vulnerable narrow stretch of land in Israel’s mid section is now irrelevant. The greater danger is from terrorists coming in from the sea.
Israeli officials must also apologize for its killings and destruction of Arabs and their property. Palestinians should also apologize, but the more courageous and enlightened side must do it first. Many Palestinians deny reality; they, including the leadership, refuse even to accept the historical reality that the Israelite temple was in Jerusalem. But the Israelis missed the chance to educate and democratize the Palestinian Arabs when the Israelis controlled the territories.
Where are the Jewish prophets and wise men when we need them the most? Why have the Israelis been so foolish as to think they could anger the Arabs with no consequence?
If the Messiah has been waiting for the right moment to announce himself and save humanity from destruction, now is the time. Moshiach, we await you. Please come now. The people are blind and foolish. May Moshiach save us all from our idiocies!
