why don’t we concentrate more on trying to find osama and taliban than preparing for war, why should thousands upon thousands of american AND iraq cillivan lives be risked as well as the amount of soilders?

i went to the january 18 rally up in san fransisco. i live in los angeles. it was worth it going up there, i was amazed at all the people who support peace. old, young, and all types of cultures. it was a great experience. sadly i realized that what kind of democracy is it.. the u.s. is going to war, yet the u.s. people dont want war. what will this country turn into? dammit...fight war not wars!

Thanks, Hanno, for your deliberate but passionate report. I attended the San Francisco stand for American ideals of equality and justice on January 18. I, too, had the sense that the gathering was larger than the October march and rally. I set up a Henry George School booth and handed out a copy of Martin Luther King’s words about the Citizen’s Dividend which you have posted on The Progress Report. I added an invitation to connect with the HGS. Among the many who stopped by and took away literature was Mark Andrews, a man familiar with Geoist thought. I invited him to present his reservations about geoism on the HGS radio broadcast, The Frankly Georgist Hour, that night (the 18th) and we had a constructive discussion on the air.

The millions of $ already spent and possibly more going to be spent for military purposes, could have been spent to improve the living conditions of millions of poor people, as well in the U.S. as abroad. The money could have been spent to fight the pollution of the environment, not only in the U.S. but on a world scale. The "warmongers" seem not to care but about themselves, not even about the future of their own children. The future MUST be PEACE !
