Concerning the Corporate radio kills the protest music article:
Bust the monopoly. Charge the owner of each broadcast right an annual rent equal to the sale price of the right. Divide the annual known rental value for a station by population of area reached by the signal and apply that rate to all bands. The owners can always sell off some of their holdings to pay the tax bill.

Concerning the Corporate radio kills the protest music article:
Whoo Yes!! Amen. I am a lover of Radio - it’s populist power, its great energy as as purveyor of the musical ethos of an era. I remember well, back in the fifties, the terrific excitement of those DJ’s playing sexy music, back when sex was illegal. I remember them introducing "black" rhythms to a white audience, when anything black was also illegal. The Coasters for example - there was a time when the Coasters were considered almost as dangerous to America as Osama bin Laden is, today.
