Concerning the Here's How to Contact the United Nations Security Council article:
Why is it that UN does not try to prevent country from being in crisis rather they prefer claiming to secure a country when they are already in crisis or war. example is the crisis that is going on in Ivory Coast, they allowed a president to remain on seat and contest for election and afterward they are telling him to leave the seat that he failed which is very very unwise because no one will ever accept defeat when he still power to subdue the people. United Nation should get their senses excised on this thing.

I am a United Kingdom subject and during 1977 while I was in the Royal Navy I was sent to Porton Down in Wiltshire where I was to take part in trails (unknown to me at that time these were chemical/biological trails). Some of the veterans eventualy got the Ministry of Defence to open up the case of an Airforce man who died in the 1950s while taking part in these trails. I only found out in June 2009 about posible links to ill health and these trials and when I try to get answers from the British Government they say that this matter has been dealt with, they never got in contact with myself or a lot of the other Armed Forces people who took part in the trials. They say it is not their duty to get in contact with the people that they used in chemical/biological experiments, and when we try to find out who is responsible for telling us they ignore all our requests. Could you as the United Nations try and get them to contact every one who took part in these trials under the Human Rights Act of which they signed. Can you also find out how they got us to go to Porton Down to take part in these experiments, this has caused problems for my health and the health of others. During the Nuremburg trails the Nazis said they were only following orders so whos orders were the British Ministry of Defence following when they put us through these tests. Maybe you can get them to answer because I cannot get one from them.

To Whom it May Concern, I am a Jamaican and it is unbelievable what injustice and foolishness I see in the media. It is simply disgusting and something must be done if anyone of you have anything of a conscience. The bombing of Lebanon is completely uncalled for and absolutely disgusting for the "Almighty" United States of America to sit by and let their ally Israel kill innocent people. The UN preaches about fair play and international justice but still a tyrant like America is left to roam free, and Israel chooses to step on the poor Lebanese because they have no nuclear war power. Israel wants to fight their battles with whoever, fine, then fight it on their soil, and this foolishness about Israel wanting back land that does not belong to them but the people of Lebanon and so on. This may be to you one of a thousand complaints but with any luck its leaves an impact just as much as the current situation as impacted me. At the end of the day we know whats right from wrong and that we should do the right thing. What if you had someone there that you loved?! PLEASE help to make a difference. Please act now! Thank you for listening. Jan.

i am 15yrs old, and i live in the United States of America, In my history class we were just disscussing about the UN and watched a movie about Rwanda. Now we are taking our Final exams and our Final Essay question is a persuasive essay asking *when should the international community intervene in a civil war or brutal dictatorship?* well i think when the right time is if there is a suspicion about any threats , that those should be ckecked into right away. And just keep an eye on the problem until there is really is no problem and every thing is all right. No matter how long it takes to make sure that there is absolute peace, you should always be ready to intervene no matter what. If you would have been concerned at all, things like the Jewish Holocaust,Rwanda,Darfur, and other problems would have been more preventable!!!! This has to CHANGE, more lives will be saved if the UN intervenes instead of taking a step aside and washing their hands of the problem, and acting as if nothing is wrong and there is peace everywhere, because there isnt always peace. The UN needs to get its act together and try to help out!!!!

Whitney M. Bollier, 21 Magdalena Court, Mill Valley, Ca., USA, 94941To: United Nations Security Council
Subject: Ending the Iraq Conflict
The majority of thinking persons now realize that President Bush of the USA, indeed made a major mistake invading Iraq. It was a mistake based on faulty information and faulty ego(s).
What should have happened when President Bush ignored the pleas of other nations not to invade Iraq, was that the UN Security Counsel, while condemning the invasion, should have at the same time poured as many troops as possible into Iraq, to ensure that the conflict would be over and new elections could be held as quickly as possible.
The clock cannot be turned back, but it can be turned forward. The United Nations Security Council instead of its continued finger pointing at President Bush for being rash and foolish, should now step in by pouring as many troops as possible into the conflict, bringing the insurgency to an end, and assuring fair elections on January 30, 2005.
Please be advised that The UN and its Security Council members, by relishing in the chagrin of one, at the expense of millions, has turned President Bush’s folly, into the their own. Act, turn the clock forward!
Sincerely, Mr. Whitney M. Bollier
Note: Due to "The Progress Report" disclaimer above, regarding closed email address's, I would hope that The Progress Report would find merit in the above letter to the UN Security Council, and distribute copies to the UN Security Council membership. Thank you in advance, Whit Bollier

I would like to address to all the United Nations top officialS with regards to the Iraq peacekeepers. It is about time to send foreign troops to Iraq to help the American and British soldiers to maintain peace and order and also to help find that big fugitive man SADDAM to end the chaos in Iraq. There is no other person who wants to retaliate but this Big EVIL man that need to be kick out in that place. God has the right to remove him. We need cooperation from other nations to end the chaos in Iraq. There are people in Iraq who are not for evil. The only people who wants evil are Saddam's loyalists. These are the people that need to be punished and cut off their evil deeds. Why do people always blamed the American soldiers when they have already sacrifice their lives for the sake of helping the Iraq people and also in obedience to the government? They have been there for so long? But some countries are just sitting pretty not able to help. Cooperation is needed. Stop blaming the US soldiers for not able to protect that UN building and other stuff. Not everything is in their hands to protect. We need each other. Send foreign troops thousands of them and fill Iraq with it so they were able to accomplish their job. Above all TRUST GOD--He knows where all the evil people hide!. We cannot do anything without God's help. The problem of most of us is we do it ourselves without God's help. We cannot do anything without HIM. The point is---SEND MORE FOREIGN TROOPS AND STOP BLAMING WHEN DISASTER COMES. THE BLAME GOES TO SADDAM AND HIS MEN. God hates evil deeds. God has been so patient with all of us. There come a time that His wrath will pour to those who deserve it.

Please do not turn the control of Iraqi oil sales over to the current administrations United States and the United Kingdom. They are too closely tied to corporate interests to be trusted. Giving them the checkbook to write checks from the revenue generated by Iraqi oil, rest assured they will be nepotistically hiring only companies economically tied to themselves, and they will be paying themselves exorbitant amounts to rebuild the very things those same people chose to destroy. This is wrong. As an American I am ashamed of this transparent greed. I support everyone who is engaged in ending it. Thank you.

My views are simple. I am a proud citizen of the USA. We have for the first time in a very long time a President whom most of us are proud to have as our Leader. Pay no attention to the libs in this country. They are a shrinking breed. All through my educational years I have to come to the understanding that the UN is a good thing to have, protecting peoples from all countries. I find now this is not so? I have been doing some research now and I am finding out that the UN really is a huge joke and a farce upon the world. I want someone to show me one single solitary thing that the UN actually has done that can be proven worthy of noticing. My suggestion is all of you pack up and go home to your own countries and we'll sell that piece of real estate and donate it to worldy causes. We do not need any of you to fight our battles for us. We can do it ourselves. We don't even need you all to help us rebuild Iraq. We will succeed at building an Iraq that the whole Arab world can be proud of. I am sick of countries like France, Germany, Russia, China and the like telling us what WE can or can not do. Who the hell do you people think you are threatening vetos and crap like that? Wait until the next time your neighbor attacks your country. Maybe we won't come to your aid. We do remember our friends. And we will shun our enemies. You people better think about what you think and say and the actions you take. Because, tomorrow you may all need the USA to be there for you.

The UN General Assembly should immediately enact a resolution to eject a nation of the UN Security Council from said Council if it violates the mandates of the majority and attacks a sovereign nation without provocation.
The UN needs to relocate to neutral ground.
The UN needs to address ALL nations' "Weapons of Mass Destruction" stockpiles, production, and sales, EQUALLY.
The UN needs to define "terrorism" and define methods for thwarting said activity; The UN needs to have monitors/inspections in all nations, with the same standards applied to all.
Sanctions should be automatically enforced against "belligerents."
The belligerents should not be allowed to issue the contracts for the restoration - it is already obvious that the US is profiting by contracting with US firms.
The UN is the best hope for freedom and justice - but it needs to change itself first.

Interesting remarks. Some people suggest moving the United Nations headquarters to Jerusalem. That would have its plusses and minuses, but it would at least be a strong statement of commitment to peace in the Middle East. The most important thing that you mentioned is "with the same standards applied to all" -- that is the big problem! Many so-called leaders are simply unwilling to apply a single, universal standard of justice and human rights to all situations.

This war is not like a rainstorm -- it is a deliberate choice. So when you say "it's war and you must expect casualties" you are trying, but failing, to make an excuse. You shrug off the killing of civilians as though it does not matter to you. Why don’t they get their heads out of the sand (no pun intended) and do what they have to do to try and save this world before it’s destroyed by one man. The Security Council should be a forum for discussion to find the best way to solve world problems by peaceful means. Each nation should vote its conscious; no single nation has the right to push, shove, and threaten nations who disagree with sanctions, or bribe other into voting its way by promising economic assistance. This will render the UN into a tool by which one superpower can impose its will upon the world. The UN nations will cease to be credible oganization that can be trusted into solving world problems; but serve as a cover for the super power to act unilaterily to do what it pleases.
