Take Ten Minutes to Act Against War
Bush Colin Powell bombing

A Constructive Step for Peace

The Progress Report recently became aware of this interesting suggestion, and we pass it along to you.

Please consider it, and do as your conscience demands.

France, China and Russia are the permanent United Nations Security Council members who oppose war with Iraq. A vote against a war resolution by any of them would defeat the resolution.

Contact these three, to let them know that you and many others in the U.S. support their efforts to prevent a war against Iraq.

We have heard that they find such statements significant -- the U.S. has a reputation of being full of warmongers and your messages can help to counter that reputation and encourage peace.

You can encourage them to use their UN security council veto, and/or to continue pursuing their alternative plans to intensify inspections in Iraq as a safer, sounder alternative to violence.
