When I Die I May Not Go To ... Texas

I would like to see a show of hands of those still for the war in Iraq, knowing the sticky mess we are in, a mess of our own making, the cost and the likelihood, given our past performance, that we will end up walking away with the job unfinished at some point.

Please take this opportunity to sign on for YOUR proportionate $share of the cost of our next war. I predict that will be in Iran and fairly soon. The signs of designs on Iran are not front page news but they are there. The W.M.D. question is being floated and what may be another mock attempt at coallition building is underway. And there is oil, lots of oil. And an election pending.

The relative few who spoke against the war, in advance, are sometimes asked by those who favored it "Well we're there now so what are we supposed to do?" My answer is LEARN and next time THINK.

And to the legislators who should have been "checking and balancing" when Iraq was building up ...what were you thinking when your thoughts and actions might have counted for something? And what are you thinking now, now that you can see what sitting on your hands will get you?

For a soldier, dereliction of duty has legal consequences. Perhaps legislators should face similar possibilities, like having the post war Iraq bills come out of their retirement fund, rather than from the resources of working Americans.

Our current President is not the first to mislead or be mislead. Consider these things:

We are on another primrose path people. This one is down hill and coated in Mid East crude.
