Palaver from Persimmon Crossing
with Warren Faulk
Syriasly
...take a number.
Syria has made the rogue nation list. Forwarding night vision devices to Iraq. A fishy odor caused me to do a little checking. There are several companies that offer such devices by mail. One I found offers 55 models from $200.00 to several thousand dollars by mail. You just need a credit card. I expect you could mail them to an address in Syria or Syracuse without any government involvement.
Who are these thousands of IRANIAN demonstrators who have shown support for IRAQ? They don't even like each other!
So we "just roll " in with the most powerful military force that has ever been exported and liberate a people who don't speak our language or share our beliefs, and we are taken aback by their objection to our 'presents'.
Some of us who favor war point to the Hitler example in describing "the Regime". Let's look at some of the things the Nazis did:
They shouted down their detractors.
They built a huge military machine and launched it against countries that were overmatched.
They captured the Ploesti, Romania oil fields.
They made new laws and developed internal security forces to keep themselves in power.
They hammered the German people with propaganda ... telling them how wonderful they were, spoon feeding them with delusions of superiority and righteousness.
Well, we are a great nation and a wonderful people. I think many of us just feel duty bound to hold our peace until the troops come home ... that's the American way ... but what if the troops don't come home?
